Men's Discipleship Framework

WOODTOARROWS

A 52-week discipleship framework for men who are serious about growth — in their faith, their character, and their mission. Start any month of the year.

"If you send me wood, I will return to you arrows."
We believe disciplined men who love God and live for Him can change the world.

Four Challenges. One Year.

Each challenge runs 12 weeks, followed by a built-in rest week. Four challenges. 52 weeks total. Start any month — always begin with Commit to Christ.

✝️
Challenge 1 · 12 weeks

Commit to Christ

Establish your foundation. Faith, prayer, Scripture — the center everything else is built on.

🌱
Challenge 2 · 12 weeks

Commit to Growth

Sharpen your mind, skills, and character. Become the man God designed you to be.

Challenge 3 · 12 weeks

Commit to Health

Your body is not separate from your faith. Train it with the same intentionality.

🎯
Challenge 4 · 12 weeks

Commit to Mission

Be sent. Live with purpose beyond yourself. Finish the year directed — an arrow, not raw wood.

"In the spring, at the time when kings go off to war... David remained in Jerusalem."
2 Samuel 11:1 — NIV

David was a man after God's own heart — and a season of idleness nearly cost him everything. Wood to Arrows exists because men who aren't moving toward something are vulnerable. The framework gives structure to that movement.

Everything in one place.

Progress tracker, journal, calendar, Bible (WEB), and a Wingman tab to see how your brothers are doing. Free on iOS and Android.

Each month we sit down with a leader in the faith for an honest conversation about what it means to follow Christ as a man. Available on Spotify and Apple Podcasts. These are supplementary — your group doesn't need them to run the program, but a lot of men find them useful.

The Program

Fifty-two weeks. Four challenges. Twelve weeks each. Start any month — always with Commit to Christ. Built around men who hold each other accountable and keep showing up.

Twelve weeks.
Four times.

Each challenge is a 12-week sprint with a personal goal the man sets for himself — not a program director's goal. His own. The leader facilitates accountability, not a curriculum.

The cycle kicks off with a group meeting before the first challenge begins. It runs 52 weeks — four 12-week challenges, each followed by a built-in rest week. Eight structured touchpoints across the year, with the app keeping everyone connected in between.

A man joining an existing group steps in with the current challenge. A man starting fresh — or starting a new group mid-year — always begins with Commit to Christ on the 1st of the next month.

The measure of success isn't a perfect scorecard. It's a man who finishes the year closer to God and better than he was at the start. That's it. That's the win.

Groups set their own frequency — some meet every 6 weeks, others monthly or weekly. The framework flexes around your rhythm.

Kickoff Meeting

Before the first challenge begins, the group gathers to sign commitment letters, set personal goals, and establish the meeting rhythm. This can happen any month — the framework starts when your group does.

Midpoint Check-In — Week 6

How's it going? The group reviews scorecards, encourages one another, and adjusts if needed. No shame, just accountability.

End-of-Challenge Celebration — Week 12

Reflect on the quarter, celebrate progress, and set goals for the next challenge.

Wingman Check-Ins — Ongoing

Small groups track each other's progress in the app. A reaction, a message, a prayer — brotherhood in the in-between.

Map your 52-week cycle

January is the ideal start — but any month works. Pick your start month below and see exactly how your four challenges map out across the year.

Each challenge runs 12 weeks. A built-in rest week follows before the next challenge begins on the 1st of the month. Always start with Commit to Christ — begin any month of the year.

Small groups.
Real accountability.

Assigned, Not Self-Selected

In a church setting, the local leader places men in groups. Men don't always choose the brothers they need.

Flat Circle of Peers

No designated leader within the group — just a circle of men sharpening each other. The app's Wingman tab keeps everyone visible.

Together for the Year

Same group, all four challenges. Brotherhood takes time to build. These groups have a full year to build it.

This works in any context.

Formal Church

A pastor or ministry leader adopts it for their men's ministry. Multiple Wingman groups running at once, united around the same framework.

🏠

Small Group

A handful of men who want structure and accountability. No church program required — just men willing to commit to each other for a year.

Just Two Men

You and a friend. Download the app, pick your start date, and run the year together. The framework works best inside a church community — but it can lead you there too.

Start here.
Don't stop here.

Wood to Arrows works best inside a local church community where teaching, preaching, and pastoral care are already happening. The Wingman group isn't a replacement for that — it's accountability structure that makes the most of it.

If you're not currently in a church, we'd encourage you to find one. This framework will mean more when it's part of something bigger.

That said — grab a friend, start the year, and let the journey lead where it leads. The app tracks both of you. The four challenges give you direction. The door is always open.

What You'll Need

About

Why this was built, who built it, and where to reach them.

Wood to Arrows started with a letter. The story goes that a Bible college leader in Europe once wrote to churches throughout the region with a simple offer: "If you send me wood, I will return to you arrows." Whether the account is historically verified, we can't say — but the image never let go. Raw material. Potential. Young men sent in rough, returned with direction.

Most men's discipleship programs are either too light — a breakfast every third Thursday — or too heavy, requiring ten free hours a week nobody has. Neither actually changes men.

Wood to Arrows is built for real men with full schedules, real families, real jobs, and a real desire to be more than they currently are. The framework gives them structure without a curriculum. Accountability without shame. Brotherhood without pretense.

The whole thing is free. The documents, the app, the podcast — all of it. Because the point was never to build a product. It was to build men.

If this resonates, adopt it. Run it. Tell us how it goes.
